Sauvies came up really nice around 6:00-7:00pm. There was about 5 of us out there. Not too many beachgoers either at that time. It was a cool wind though. Temp at Jones was only 55 yesterday and even though sauvies was around 75-- it seemed like 65.

Tom noticed that sauvie was blowing 17 at 11pm.
We thought long and hard and drunkenly about a midnight sess! If the moon was full I think it can be done.

I've never tried it at Sauvies, but I've done the midnight Kite thing at Kailua... All I can say is "Wow". Just make sure the moon is bright enough that you can see obstacles like logs in the water. Spend at least 30 minutes with no lights--even flashlights--so that your eyes can adapt. Also, alchohol impairs your night vision so save the Cuervos for after the ride. Very Happy Rider's carrying glow sticks and a boat for support might not be a bad idea in the columbia either....

A handful were out from sandbar up to the bridge. Windy!!! Small kites…. Every kite was flat/sle, except one 5m fuel. Sky and Ken were testing North Rebels. One of them was a 10m, the other looked similar size. For that big, they looked really good in those conditions, I was impressed. They are much less flat, so that probably helps.

They were getting enormous jumps! Truly big, not the normal “what a big jump I just did.” Endless hang time. Ken was also at swell city Monday jumping like crazy on one of them. Don’t think I’ve ever seen someone spend so much time in the air. I pretty much paused what I was doing for 5 minutes just to watch him fly.

jones...i still don't understand why there is noone out there. solid and consistent 18-20. nice glassy rollers on the wash side. plenty of room to roam. and now the dredging pipe in the middle is gone.

it was on like donkey kong!

Thanks to the guys that helped me with the Windwing 17M last night at Sauvies Island. I will attempt to return the freaking thing to the store in Hood River. The safety C-clip breaking off the brand new set up was the the straw that broke the camels back.

Have a good one and thanks again.
