Would CGKA like to sponsor some at-risk kids?

I'm still interested in doing a community outreach with some at-risk kids. This could include next door, hrcsd, and maybe even some agencies from pdx?
I'm willing to put it together and help, but need CGKA.

This would be a great way to offer up some good vibes to the community. Much the same as the CGKA(woops)CGWA does.

What are your thoughts?

They go hand in hand. On the one hand we help the John Wayne Cancer Foundation and this is noble for sure. A success on all levels. My Mom is a cancer survivor and we lost my Aunt Teenie to breast cancer. I bought a shirt and I will support this effort.

My question is what actions locally do we as an organization do to help youth? My idea is to start simple with a land kite clinic. Bring in some cool kiters, like Shannon and Grom(talked to Grom and he is up for it.)

I've already got some intial commitments from certified instructors, and I know that there are more out there willing to do this.

The impact would be huge!! This is something that could really make life just a bit more cool for a kid with very little, or just maybe a board kid.

What are your thoughts on sponsoring this type of small scale event?

Ron feel free to come to one of our meeting and chat with us about it.

Meetings are 2nd Friday of the month at 7pm at HR newpaper office. First 15-30 mins are open for members.

I've been thinking about this effort and would like to get some the CGKA's feedback. The month of September would be a great time to do something local and cool for kids coming back to school.

No need to get on the agenda just come for the first 15-20 mins. It's open comments from members. After that we typically close the meeting to just BOD.

Meeting should be on the 10th at 7pm at the HR Newpaper office.

I do want the gear, and will use it, many thanks.

Also, I would like to talk to you about how CGKA could partner up with me and do an annual event geared at helping kids who need to access the sport of kite boarding.

Is there a time when we could meet next week and talk about my ideas? I would appreciate your advice on how to proceed.

I want to thank you for being patient as I have been quite busy....
