For $30 bucks I had to give the 12M Rapture a demo out at the sandbar yesterday (through the WindWing store in downtown HR)...

I'm not one for being a salesman, but it was such a cool Gorge kite I had to write up a little ditty on it...and for anybody that was at the sandbar yesterday, that was some crazy %*()*$

Nice review Colby... smart of Wingwing to let people demo kites for only $30, especially if they think they got the product to back it up.

The SAFE system does seem to make a lot of sense, maybe I should check it out if at least not just for my girlfriend who's still learning. I'd certainly put safety highest on the list of priorities for her.

I just checked out the wind graph for Monday... damn that is gusty.

Good job on the write up.

Did you ride the CC bar?

If so, how was the sheeting? stiff or smooth; how's the bar pressure? light or heavy?

Thanks
fo

yes on using the CC bar...it was smooth overall, although the sheeting is a little strange to get used to. Instead of just letting the tension from the kite sheet the bar out for you, the bar is rigged with a ‘pulley’ type system so it has some tension built into it because of the friction. You have to push out or pull for the sheeting, although you don’t need to do this very hard. I was used to it after 5 or 6 tacks across the river. As for bar pressure it was on the lighter side…close to my 14M Cab Nitro, which is a high aspect kite. Will be interested to see what you think when you get your kite fo!

Hey,,

Windwing mailed me nothing but their deepest and heart-feltregrets;

I picked up the 12 and cc bar from a freind.

Cost me an " I'm not fokiten" muscle tee, you know the one with the fitted bodice?

It's a HOT seller,,,

I'm not ready to post a review.

Just wanted to ease the pain of your curiosity...
