Hey there are so many lurkers on this site its not funny. Threads get 100's of views even when they only have a couple posts.

You lurkers all need to come out of the shadows! Very Happy

Seriously, don't be afraid, we won't bite (well maybe RT will, but don't mind him.) Maybe you could tell us where your headed this weekend?

My answer: Coast!

Jones, Kalama or maybe near Frenchmans if Northerlies fill in solidly later, maybe Caterpillar if my float tube still has air in it.

Sailed Dougs last night wind was weird, people came out really late at Secret Spot, it looked okay but Rowena looked the most filled in.

Had excellent dinner at the Lyle hotel excellent food and service worth checking out for a change from Pizza at Andrews!!

Yah, I definetly need to come out and meet all you guys! However, I must say I have learned a lot about the sport by "lurking" around. Wink

Also, it makes the day at the desk go by so much quicker!

It's just me. I look at the same threads
hundreds of times trying to read between
the lines.

Hey everyone! I have been a long time lurker and have picked up great info on this site! So I thought I'd get off my butt and post!

Still somewhat a beginner, even though have been at the kiting for bout 3 summers...wow, can't believe its been that long! Mostly out at SI or the Gorge when I can! What's the best spot for someone who's learning how to turn (thats bout where I'm at)? SI many times seems too light wind and the gorge is chaotic. I have a 12m and 17m, both SS Fuels, and weigh in at about 220!

pkh keep up the good work!

Hein - Traffic, lightwind, chop, poo in the water, welcome to Portland! Seriously though hope you had an okay time at our urban beach. Very Happy i wonder if you can kite in Sturgeon Lake? would probably be pretty gross water but flat in some parts...

Thanks to the lurkers comin out! I know there are still way more of you out there though. Very Happy

fokiten - Maybe you can give us some feedback on Lake Mohave? Wink

Hein, when we're down at school, Newport and Lincoln City are the closest to us... Obviously Siletz in LC is going to be a better beginner spot as it's flat water, but South Jetty is 25 minutes closer (~50 mins from campus).

I'm definitely a lurker but I often find myself with nothing to add to the majority of threads I read, I'm also not a day to day regular and still trying to piece some kind of quiver together etc. <-- Lurking Explained.

I am another Seattle lurker that comes down to the Gorge almost every weekend. Phillip, you do an awesome job with this site! I read the posts everyday. I just wish our Seattle crowd could be as cool as everyone on here, we tend to have too much politics that come out on our forum... I much prefer to read and be a part of this one!

See you all at Rufus... we picked up the new cool "Shasta" trailer.... now Teague and I are trailer trash by the river... always what I strived to be... yippee! Laughing Come by and say hi when you see us there! We love to meet kiters!

Yeah I’m guilty of being a lurker, been one since the forum first went online. It’s a good local forum and getting better. The Gorge is a great place to kite, and I enjoy kiting with the locals and the P-town crew too.

We are continually pushing the limits of riding in windier conditions now, which I’m stoked about. This season I’m getting into swell riding in the 30mph+ days and riding with locals at the WS bridge and other spots. I think we are going to see more river specific boards made now that we have the kites.

A lot of good local info here!
Cheers,
John
