airport has been showing a steady 9 and with the curent being this strong do you think it's worth it? Does Sauvies work in the evening with this kind of light cloud cover? I have a feeling this is a NO on both questions, but just curious.

I'm not sure, but you guys are crazy for being able to ride such wind. I either need a lighter wind kite, bigger board, some light wind skills, or maybe a combination of all!!! Normally I'm always thinking, if it's under 15 or so, I should probably just watch... Sad

yes...it's a bit of a gamble at the lower wind speeds and rarely works without a strong current and a glide board or surf board. The kites have gotten much better for lower wind conditions though, especially some of the bows and the SS Machines...hopefully the wind range keeps getting bigger on both ends.

Personally, I doubt I will ever buy a 20M kite again or a 17M for that matter, unless I move to San Diego...pump that kite up till your blue in the face and end your session the minute your kite touches down on the water and you can't relaunch the thing - leaving you swimming for shore with 10lbs of wet tubing! Still better than a day in the office I always say! Very Happy
