Hey all you kiteboarding idiots!

I'm wondering if anybody has any great tips on how to save some cash while in Maui.

So far I'm taking my 8, 10 and sx137 in a loaner golf bag(thanks dude). What I'm wondering about is how to save some cash on:

1. Rental car or scooter
2. Luau coupons??
3. Hotel pool poaching
4. Fishing! I'm for sure going to go pick some naner's and avocado's.
5. I'll probably poach some pineapple's as well.

All of your advice will be very appreciated.

PEACE IN The MIddle EAst Bay bay!

You have to appreciate the focus and concentration of the other locals....some might let compassion get in the way...but these guys kept the cameras and the heckles rolling!

this is a horrific example..this clip of clipped completely wrong. If you've seen the whole clip... He gets encouraged by spectators to throw elbows when he has a full mount. It doesn't show so much of the other things that happened.... The kid who gets beat up apparently had mental problems, and it is true that is was an ass for not getting out of the way, but the way this is is clipped is so wrong IMO

Going to north shore Maui first week August.

I have 2008 and 09 North Rebels 6m , 9m, and 12m.

Do I bring all three ? I weight about 148 lbs.

Anybody been there this time of year ?

Should I leave the 12m at home ?

Peace,

E

Enrique, yes bring all of them. This time of the year you will need that 6m for sure. But they do have lighter days as well so bring those 12m and 14m just in case. Then you'll be one of the few on the water while the crowd stands on the beach starring amelessly at you killin it! I usually take 6-14m with me. No skunkings for the Gator!

Hey nice shots Wally are they yours ? I was in Hatteras recently and got to meet Robby Naish and kite with him one afternoon in the REAL slick during Triple S.
It was pretty sick watching him do 25 foot airs on his surf board over the thin island mass on west side of the REAL slick. Pretty fun overall.
Waves look a little big for me at Lanes. Recently was at Roads End in Lincoln city, and at Florence learning to kite waves on smaller stuff now. Will hope to try and kick it up a notch in Maui.

E, thanks man! Yeah they are mine! I really look up to the guy after seeing how he takes care of his people. A huge thank you to Bam Bam for always welcoming me to Maui and letting me hang with the family. I really dig the Naish crew! Everyone is soo cool! If I wasn't a very stoked Eclipse guy, you know where I'd be soliciting!

Here's a shot of me in Maui from this last trip in April. Thanks Bam Bam!

Here is a little high flying action to pump up the stoke !
I just love this shot.
Hey Wally would you mind getting me in contact with your local friends in Maui ?
Always good to get local 411 on kite spots, and good eats.
Is that cool ?

Mahalo,

Enrique

Thanks for the shot E!

No problem brother! Jon Malmberg aka. Bam Bam is the information guru for Maui. He can give you all the advise on spots, local partys, things to do and best of all, where to be!

I will PM you bro. Have a great trip and make sure you get out of bed early each day and go spear fishing! The shit!

Hey let's get together and kite it up! I know a few spots and may have access to a jet ski on the west side.

As far as localism goes you have to really look for trouble to find it. Anyways I'm staying with the parents of a pro surfer.

Very Happy Cheers

Is Maui mostly a chop bash?

I am going to be in Denver Aug 18 and then looking to head home to Australia.

The plan was to spend 4 days in Maui or go elsewhere in the US or even somewhere like Cabarete or nearby central America but I have heard some people say Maui is a bit over-rated with little flatwater.

I like flatwater. Have not done much decent wave kiting except on a twin tip in 4ft stormy.

Anybody have some feedback. Is the Gorge a better option?
