I’m not new to board building I have quite a bit of experience (on a professional level) and been a boardhead all my life.

My boards (outlines, rocker, profile, fin placement and volume) are totally my own conception with the exception of riding a lot of other boards built by others and or other manufacturers’.

I would strongly suggest to first ride as many other boards as you can; this way you could get a real feel from the feedback, what works for you, and what is best suited for the area you kite at.

I have two boards in the works and a twin in the designing stages at the moment.

I live in the Gorge so the small board is a 5’-1” X 15-3/4” X 1-3/4” fish shape. (quad-fin)
The larger board is designed for most all other places and is 5’-8” X 17-1/4” X 2-1/8” fish shape. (quad-fin) The twin hasn’t been finalized yet but is close….

If I lived at the coast I’d definitely have a Pin-Tail Thruster in the works; that’s on the back burner. Wink

BTW- I’m 5’-6”

Hope this helps,
John

what about a pintail/round tail
single fin Fish
I saw one at a Hawiaan rib joint
and it looked pretty cool

DukeONuke-

In Italian: Bella (Beautiful) Vento (Wind) Boards….

Thanks!

Blowhard –
Your lucky to live at the coast; for me it’s a bit of driving (but always well worth it when it’s on). Ah boards for riding waves all day…………if only Rolling Eyes

I live in the Gorge so I’m focused on developing boards that work in the conditions we deal with. It is a great place for R&D IMO. If they prove to work well here they will work most any place.

New one in the works.. (5’-4” x 16-1/2” Quad) This one is a double concave!

Keep yah all posted,
John

Did you seal the wood on the inside, or are you just putting faith in a waterproof outer shell?

I have built cedar strip kayaks and this seems like a logical progression, especially as I already have most of the materials on hand and my wife wouldn't be too pleased if I went out and bought a directional Smile

This one is Spruce with a tad of Cedar.

*Sealing the inside is a good idea if building it completely hollow; if using a foam core sealing the inside with poly glue is a good method.

Thanks so much.

Thanks Smile

I do have two boards for demo if anyone is interested.
A (5'-1" x 15-3/4") single concave and a (5'-4" x 16-1/2") double concave.
