have you tried Viento state park. I think it is the mile 54 or 56 marker on 84 before HR. There is a train that rolls through there about every 15 mins, so that sux. But it is close and there is a launch there that doesn't ever have anyone on it. I thought that the few times i've ridden there that the wind was pretty steady too. Would be a pretty fun downwinder from there to HR.

forgot, showers, bathrooms and other facilities were very nice. Also had full electric hookup. I think a spot was about $20 a night

There is a pretty cool spot to stay in Bingen. Bunk beds, share dbathroom, and a huge kitchen for cooking. Not too sure of what the prices are now though.

If you are a volunteer for the Gorge Games, then I can get you FREE CAMPING near the Event Site! I've posted that in the Important Information post for the Gorge Games.

wishbone campground in Lyle. Showers, great views and frisbee golf. I think it is 15/night.

Beacon Rock has a nearby campground, I believe a State Park C.G. I'm not sure of closer to Stevenson.
