Can someone Google map this Rufus for me? Sounds like the dream spot...
No Doggie poo, sweet winds, only happy people...

Just to clarify...

I don't care where you ride or how many of your herd you bring.
Share your pictures and stoke amongst yourselves to your hearts'
content. In a private photo gallery.

But.....

Please quit going on and on about our precious spots on a PUBLIC
FORUM.

Magazines get tossed and aren't search-able, forums are always
live and are search-able. Lurk-able too.

The way I see it we have basically 4 main launches in the Corridor.
That ain't a lot of launches, ladies. On busy days two of them are
outright zoos and I've seen the other two like that also.

It's not local-ism, It's common sense. Keep the lid on a little, the
riders will come anyway so no need to fuel the fire. Preserve it
like we do with many of our natural resources here in the NW.

Every time I see a nice picture of a windy spot with a nice beach
and folks riding; I want to go there. Believe me, I am not alone.

Seems to me if there are only 4 launches then figuring them out shouldn't take very long.

Maui only has 1 main launch... We should talk to them about trying to keep it quiet. Hope its not too crowded when I go there this winter.

Anyway photos of kiting are IMO the best thing about this site. Its been a staple of the site since day 1, you're just going to have to deal with it dude.

Just cracks me up you really think a bunch of Portlanders are going to drive 110 miles (each way) every day to go ride your gusty, choppy, rocky... "launch." I'd rather try to ride southerlies on the coast, its closer to us anyway. Thumb's Up

Maui probably has more launches.

The reason you don't know about them
is that they don't post pictures of them
on forums.

I am sure you'll find them once you
are there. But I'm sure they won't
be wanting you to post pictures.

So I don't understand why you wouldn't
have the same respect for your fellow
riders at home.

Ya ,,
keep the stoke!!
The Gorge RULES ,
And if yer lonely
send up yer signal kite
and yer pals will all be joining in!!!

One of my pals at our beach is ALWAYS
bitchin about the EX-POSERS
MAGAZINES,ONLINE-FORUMS,
and all other sources of information!!!!

Perhaps they need to stop reading
so much
and go kiting.

For me I see pics of the riding in different locations and DON'T want to go there .
For many reasons ,crowded, ugly launches, not enough wind, long plane rides , chop,FLAT WATER,my pals are somewhere else
So IT can go both ways
I would say if you don't like whats going on in "your neck of the woods"
try to improve it.
By becoming the ambassador for your favorite spot ,you may be able to get things your way if the people you are concerned about causing trouble
ARE IN YOUR CAMP!!!
Bitchin about it just makes YOU look and feel BAD.

The other thing is NOT everybody is reading this trite.

I said 1 main launch. Just like the Gorge only has 4 main launches. Wink

Though I could have sworn that SBC Kiteboarding feature from a few years ago had more... we should call the editor.

You need to work on your sandbagging, go visit those guys in Florence they are the best at it. Its only about 233 miles away from you in Hood River.

Silly windsurfers, can't believe they put that all online, that's probably why their sport is growing out of control.

Hein, I see your point but would argue LESS people are at your favorite riding spots because people have learned from the web, magazines, and friends about the number of options available to them. How people choose to get into the sport is a completely different beast.

If the only spot anyone knew about was the sandbar that would be one thing, but by personal experience, I believe we saw you more in Texas earlier this year than 3 years in the Gorge simply due to knowledge of a dozen riding options between the coast and Rufus - much of this knowledge coming from this website.

The NW probably has to have more riding spots than any place in the country and being open about it and letting people know about safety issues with each spot will continue to be important online or otherwise.

Now what happened to that report on rivernose?? Confused
