The 2008 US Wind & Water Open is set for May 9-11, 2008, on the beautiful sands of McGee Beach in Corpus Christi, Texas. Corpus Christi, known for high winds and a warm climate, is
the official host city of the 2008 USWWO. The 2008 USWWO features national championships and US titles in wind and water extreme sports. With nearly $50K in purse money and prizes, the US Wind & Water Open features the US Windsurfing Regatta, the US Kiteboarding Open, and the Texas Skate Jam. The US Wind & Water Open, formerly the Velocity Games, is an international favorite to both the competitors and the spectators.
Over the past 20 years, the national events have evolved from a local weekend outing into an international celebration. Today the USWWO is bigger and better than ever with the additions of larger purse amounts, family entertainment, international vendors, and new elements in the sand, sky, and sea!
