I lost one screw to my Kanaha shapes mast to board mount.
I’m uses a moses/ghost whisperer mast
Anyone know the screw type, thread and size?
KS wants $50 for a new set of screws.
Thanks

I don’t but over the years I’ve taken a sample to Ace/TumaLum and always found a match in stainless for all foil hardware.

Make sure you get the right screw, I went to Home Depot and got wrong metric or imperial screw I think and now the socket on my twintip just keeps spinning inside the board.

I'm pretty sure it's SAE and not metric, at least my 42 was. Take the board in to a good hardware store and test fit the screws. 5/16" rings a bell.

Take a sample screw into Ace Hardware or building supply center. Make sure you get Stainless Steel. When you find the correct size (SAE or metric) overlay the 2 screws to each other end-end(69 position). If the threads stay in each others grooves the entire length then the thread pitch is correct. There are 2 types of metric thread pitches Euro & Japanese. Just like there is fine & course thread SAE. Doing the simple overlay trick will ensure you have a perfect match

do the above to figure out the right thread size. and use it in the gorge.

but if you kite in the ocean, then order the same thing off the internet in 316 stainless steel. What you get the HW store will be fine in fresh water, but its likely a "PH" grade stainless steel, which will corrode in salt water. you want marine grade 316 stainless. you won't find that at the HW store.

If you figure out the form factor you need, you can order just about any marine-grade stainless fastener imaginable here:

Don’t forget to put some Lanocote on the threads before assembly to prevent galling... Cool
