Coasties, do you ever get three days in a row of south wind (nonfrontal, and summer) kiteable southerlies on the coast? The heatwave served up some awesome weirdness; downwinded from Barview (north jetty of Tillamook Bay) to the south jetty of Nehalem Bay in side-off conditions. The yute charged, and the two elder kite bruhs loved it. Here's a little bit of the action. (The first part of of super light NW wind.); https://youtu.be/2gA-B1wESfI

Nice vid! I too have experience with the one wheel drink save. Yours was better
Those recent southerlies were especially consistent for a southerly with a predictable afternoon uptick holding for several hours (we kited them a couple days up in Gearhart).
Kited many southerlies on the coast, you typically won't get southerly wind of the same speed for more than an hour possibly 2 so longer downwinders can be sketchy given the kite you chose and the location. I wouldn't set up a long DW around headlands.
Speaking of epic downwinders, kitetele did an 18 mile one from Cox Rock to the S Florence jetty before the holiday. Master

I love those summer southerlies! Brings in the warmer waters and it is fun riding the waves the other way.
