Ok so rooster rock is closed. Meaning the parking lot and bathrooms etc...
But is the beach closed? What if you come by boat? Any experts want to weigh in?

Locals only Smile. Go to the most eastern sand bar up Wind. Park does not own a sand island in the river.

essential travel only - the authorities have been notified!

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Yes - boating is open - not sure the closest open boat ramp - imagine dalton is closed but go explore

parking is still restricted from Troutdale to Hood River

to answer Gman's question... in the spirit of 'glasnost'

Chinook Landing is open for boating, have seen several boats most days out by Reed Island. Less over the last 4 days of nearly perfect Rooster wind(s)... ZERO KITES

Understanding why the closures are happening and supporting the general health and welfare of my fellow man - it's still been a long hard weekend to see all that wind go under-utilized... Shocked

So Rooster in now OPEN! Yay!!

I love Rooster so got out today - but the water is SUPER HIGH - NO Beach at all.

Just a friendly warning if you go the VS were out in force and clearly unleashing some pent up demand - won't go into detail, but let's just say about 150 yards down the main path I was subjected to a full public display that I'm still trying to UNSEE...

It's a very, very long hike and swim to sand island not sure it's really worth it in hindsight (pun intended)...

Mark and Nak had a much better solution - guess I'll have to save up for a boat.

Stay SAFE - the VS are active...
