lowtide at 4:08 from the st helens tide table. at what point/amount of time after the change back from outgoing to incoming have people found has had an effect on upwind riding/holding ground?

We're just down river from st helens. We've found its about an hour after low tide it starts getting more difficult to get upwind.

St Helens tide, believe it or not, is quite a bit off from the tide at SI. Look up tides for "Knapp Landing, Washington". That's as close to SI kite beach as you can get.
