Let's be nice to her and show her we appreciate her.

Her schedule this month has her possibly disappearing for a couple of days again possibly, but let's see how she feels.

Current forecast says that's that... She's back for good. Of course a day of rain across the Columbia Basin would change all of that.

Guess this means it's time to get all the features setup!

im stoked for it. just cannot get into the event site grass launch. Flukey and bizzy. Launching/Landing stress sucks!!

That said, thx CGKA for getting us the grass. Is still incredibly better than 08'ish when we were behind the bushes by where the kite schools (and current homeless kiters) use to all be.

Awesome to have the sand back. Took a friend out tonight to teach in perfect conditions and lots of sand and shallow water... all to ourselves... Very nice.

If you're working in front of the sandbar (west side) in the waist deep water like most do, be careful... I dropped in there on Wednesday during one of the lulls, and was waist deep just wondering if the wind was coming back, and then I felt a decent sized log on one of my legs... it felt like it had branches or something, because I felt it on top of my thigh, and behind my calf... so for a second or two I was flying my kite with my leg entangled in whatever it was... I easily stepped out of it, but it was pretty spooky. Couldn't see any part of it above the water. Would be really nasty to body drag into. At a rough guess, I'd say this thing was about half way down the sandbar.

Sounds like a good use for an old Tide or Clorox bottle... recycle it into a marker buoy.

Some people will make a legitimate complaint that a anchored buoy may catch a kite line, and cause an accident. Probably a better design would involve some kind of a flexible hose-like pipe that would stick up, but would bend over and let a kite line escape.

Removing the hazzardous "deadhead" make trigger the response, that you are illegally destroying fish habitat.

What do you think?... ounce of prevention, nanny-state, illegality side-stepping the responsible authority for installation of official hazzardous warning markers, etc?

Only Scooter would try and sue you for taking out a deadhead at the sandbar. Lets worry more about saving people on this one and either mark it with a buoy or take it out completely.

Forecast showed a slight jump in water level for the first week of June, then things should drop back down to normal very quickly.

Looks like the bar is back under for the weekend with sunshine and wind in the forecast.

So no launch?
