For me one of the best parts of George Mcleans forecasts was Jones and SI. Ikitesurfs meteorolgist forecast seems to stick to pretty much the gorge from Rooster east. Well Jones already blew a couple of times this week so i sent them a couple of feedback notes saying you missed it and happily (or coincidently) Jones gets a prominent mention in todays forecast. I've asked them to forecast SI as well when it looks promising. If other subscribers want Gorge forecasts to begin at Jones not Rooster please let them know.

the nice thing about SI is that it has a sensor, Jones beach readings seem to be in nearby towns. nothing like a current reading to put some meat behind a forecast. in MN, the only sensors were at airports. OR is a windjunky haven!
if anyone knows of a sensor at Jones beach please post link. also if anyone knows the best sensor for HR eventsite/sandbar please post. maybe The Dalles is always same as HR???

Jones has a sensor if you have IWindsurf. Always use the gust rating for judging wind speed.
Rollo and I went out there last night again, pretty killer 13m wind. Was still blowing when we left at 8pm.
I think Jones Sensor was showing 9mph, gusting to like 11mph when we left PDX, and as you can see from the graph things only got better. I think we got there around 5:30, and according to the graph it was gusting around 15mph at that point, which seems more like the average wind speed on the water (it was probably even more than that.)
Nice steady north wind breeze this morning on the Willamette, that's usually a good sign for Sauvies.
