ok, so the spots page pretty much tells me to stay out of hood river until i get better and go to sunset. I'm wondering about sauvies island. If I stay plenty downwind of you guys, is it ok to go drag around down there?
also... who is this river troll, and what sort of offerings should I be leaving if I make it out to sunset tomorrow? |

We won't be at Sauvies, but normally no one has a problem with body dragging there unless you start going out super far into the channel. Typically, at least during the summer, everyone keeps there distance from shore when riding (except for launching and landing) mainly because of all the people playing in the water. And just as a sidenote, if you do want to stay away from everyone, go upwind instead of down. The wind's generally a lot more stable up there. |

The list of potential offerings to the River Troll is pretty much endless, but I've heard beer is a good place to start. |

Dont be afraid of the sand bar in hood river. Its alittle crowded and can be gusty but there is something to be said for being able to stand up half way out in the river! It can be comforting to have your feet on the ground when things are going wrong.

Tons of peeps learn at the sandbar, I just wonder how long it is before it comes back from under the water. Right now you pretty much have to launch in the parking lot. |
