I was out in the whaler a few nights ago checking out some different places. the outside of sand island would be alright, nice clean wind especially on the north end. columbia city is not as good. there are pilings all along the waterfront there. that and the only spots to launch are small. honestly the washington side of the river looks better. I think that is the woodland "bottoms" there.

I never have any luck at tressel. i usually end up with a wet kite and a hot temper after trying. I guess if the wind was more from the ne but that would make it side on. There is a point just to the north of the beach that sticks out as well as a barge loading area that both mess with the wind.
