We have a Search button issue and now it seems to be impacting the Industry button. Not trying to be an ass but it seems a little funky IMO.

These look like they might be a really nice compromise between straps and bindings. I am surprised it hasn't been tried already.

Granted, these new Sync straps look very comfortable they are not bindings and aren't a compromise. The wakeboard industry has been over this numerous times.

In the promo video when they show close-ups with a foot inserted in the strap, you can still see the dude's toes lifting off the deck as he presses on the heal side edge.

Bindings/Boots are exactly the opposite, they're meant to lock your foot to the board giving you total control or your board with lots of ankle support.

The reason to use bindings is so you can ride a larger board.

Straps work well, on small boards. Small board are required because you needed massive leverage over the healside edge to control your speed. The healside edge needed to be closer to the actual rider's heal to prevent toe lift.

Bigger boards have the potential for bigger pop since you can load up against more water. The problem is with straps and a bigger board is that your healside edge is to far from your heal, resulting in toe lift.

This is where a binding comes in. Holding your toes down and providing a high-back to lean your calf against (as long as you tighten that binding down) allows you to edge a bigger board, just like it was a small one. This plus a little technique can result in pop that rivals Hancock's takeoffs.

More people should try this, it's an amazing feeling flying through the air under your own momentum.

it might just be me, but when i use wider straps, i find my arches starting to hurt... like it's pushing down too much on my foot pressing it to be flat... I guess that's where the cushie Hein/NSI pads with arches come in.... no?
