I'm trying to help my friend experience the awesomeness of kiting and was wondering if anyone had a mountain board and trainer kite they might be willing to loan out for the weekend or something like. She's flown a trainer kite, and kept my 6m in the air nicely for about an hour last weekend so I think she's ready for more. Of course your beverage of choice can be delivered for the trade.

Thanks a lot, and let's hope for some great wind this weekend!

PS Oh, and while we're on topic if anyone has an old small female harness you'd be willing to rent or sell for cheap let me know. Although wearing harnesses isn't very legit, hmm...

Gene,
i can help you with all 3.
I have a 3.5m trainer, a mtn board, and a size small seat harness. I'm headed to the coast this weekend (where the trainer is)... when/where/how long would you need them?

the mtn board doesn't work well if the sand is loose. The best places i have found are sunset (first), manzo (second), both on low tide, west wind is best.

I can too. Typically a harness isn't necessary for landboarding. I had two youngsters (13 and 16) out in 10-12mph of wind last week w/a 2m trainer. TinyE is right, Sunset is the best... once you get her going, you can follow her on the beach in the car downwind while she lets it fly.

Sweet, thanks a lot. I could probably borrow it for a weekend or two depending on how long you'd be willing to part with it. Maybe a tad longer for the harness so I can help her body drag or something. I might try to do the mountain boarding at the coast this weekend. Manzo or Newport (or Ft. Stevens) are potential candidates. I could always borrow the harness and board if they're in town and try get a trainer from someone else. I live in Beaverton by the Tanasbourne area.

Thanks again.

pm me if you are heading central coast. I'll be at PC. I'll go ahead and take all 3 with me. I shouldn't need them for a little while.
