you can launch at daulton and do a downwinder, or hike a mile or two upwind and there will be some exposed dunes/beaches that you can launch from.

drift launch is freaking easy anywa. There is a lot sandbar exposed in HR so i wonder what that'll mean for beach exposure at RR.

i'm headed out for breakfast then going to RR. it should be on, i kite sensor saying 7mph so it is probably blowing somwhere around 25 on the water. it should be good and if it isn't stevenson is already on.

RR looked like 10m from 10 to 2pm, but I didn't see any kiters out. I pulled in and couldnt see any way to launch, the water's so, so high. I thought there would be a little bit of beach by the stairs to drift launch. I briefly considered hot launching in the parking lot and then walking down the stairs before I realized that was a terrible idea Confused. Even the dunes to the east were more flooded than usual. I went to Stevenson instead, and was overpowered on an 11m, but with the east wind it was still a bit of work to stay upwind. But I was jumping high, so that was fun Very Happy

made the right decision and continued on to shipwreck, enough wind to be powered on the 11m

I'll go if its gonna fire. Frankly I was quite amazed there was any wind on the coast today considering the forecast.

The water out past the breakers was an incredibly beautiful turquoise Cool. I got a little distracted chasing pelicans while I was heading offshore, looked back and could barely make out the people on the beach. Must have been at least a mile offshore Shocked! I wanted to keep going but it was time to turn back unfortunately Sad

Great day out there...just too much work to stay upwind on the 12m in the end. Next time doing a nice downwinder for sure. Now I just need a proper lit session out there to really pop my Oregon coast cherry.

If manzo is on tomorrow count me in....Jones looks like it has potential as well?

Stopped by RR this morning to check out the water levels - the wind was blowing but the water was really high. I counted at least five steps under water - no beach at all near the parking lot, not even a hint.

I launched at the nude beach then kited out through the bushes. A couple hot naked girls were pretty friendly and helped out, overall not a bad way to start a session.

Sburg 100 degrees and rippen on a 10.5. Felt like you were kiting in a blow dryer!
Downwinder from homevalley.

Also got a quicky in at the sandbar. WAY lit on a 10.5. Tons of fun till the lightning showed up. Thats when you think..... Hmmm lightning hits the kite, goes down the line to your Metal hook. WAY to close to things I hold dear Shocked
