I'm sure the quality isn't great compared to the nicer brands, but still, damn...

Damn! Just like an HVX! Definately cool for $200. Would be worth checking out, just to see the quality.

EDIT: Just checked on Vimeo, and they don't have this model... at least from my quick search, but the Aiptek A-HD (older version), which is only 1280x720 looks okay. Everyone talks about the shitty image stabilization and audio, but you can tell it's an HD cam.

To screw around with and not really care about... yeah. For a primary cam, I wouldn't. I'm sure you could make some decent stuff with it, but you'd have to be very careful when filming (probably using a tripod and closer up). MOV isn't going to take as much processing power to edit when compared to HDV and especially my cam's AVCHD, so that's a plus!

yea we have that cam at the shop. Its ok, sweet that it does 60 fps, but yea its super shakey.....but when you can hold it still it looks pretty good. but for 200 bucks who cares.

Any ideas on some cheap mods to make the thing waterproof? Do waterproof bags work very well at all?

I really wanted Sanyo to make their waterproof cam HD, but all they did was up the res a bit and its ~ $500.
