Anyone heading out tomorrow? I was gonna hit it around 2. Just moved here monday so I would feel better knowing that people are going to be around to get the low down on the spot.

not gonna be there but welcome to the neighborhood. I live in PDX, and grew up in Maine. Man, the kiting's so, so good here. This will be a fun summer for you. Stay west of the sandbar--west of where the Hood river enters, that's cold water, and the current is weird where it mixes with the columbia, might as well avoid it. You often have to wade through the water to reach the sandbar, walk to the rocky point, then wade out, just fyi. have fun! there's a link that explains some beta here, under 'spots' at the top.

Brian, are you in Portland or HR?

There will be PLENTY of people at the sand bar this weekend (you may end up shitting yourself actually) so there will be no shortage of people to give you some tips.

I would like to do a viento- Spit down winder saturday morning.. Any takers?

I'm in Troutdale right by Mcminimums. I realize that its going to be crazy at the sandbar, will there be enough room upwind to still throwdown without dodging kites every tack?

If not then the dw sounds dope cuz I don't need to demo new gear. Just thought it would be cool to watch the LF boys kick it and possibly muster up some gall to hit the sliders. Probably gonna be a gametime decision.

If the winds are decent I'm there. I wanted to go today, but the winds were all over the place and I really didn't see anyone out on the web cams - figured that was a good sign that wind was total crap.

I was still waiting on Savuies though - seeings how Ikitesurf said it was going to be at 12 Rolling Eyes
