Another windy day but a little closer to Hood River for a change on WED.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Windy day again for the Gorge on WED as the upper level trough kicks eastward with higher pressure just waiting to surge into the state. As heights rise, flow aloft steers northerly and onshore gradients constrict tightly - westerly flow will pull back into the Central / NearEast Gorge sites along w/ warming temps.

High temps: 68F Hood River / 72F Arlington

Water Temperature: Columbia River = still 56F - been hanging here for quite awhile

Western: More PM sunbreaks, warmer and windy. Flow from Stevenson to Viento into the 22-26 range for peak PM speeds.

Central: Sunshine, warming and windy. Speeds 24-28 likely, gusts into the 30-35 range.

Eastern: May be windiest section of Gorge early but PM peak winds should shift back towards Doug's / Rowena late.

Jones/Sauvie: Jones 18-22 late in the day, Sauvie 12-16. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Looks very promising... SE right now! We'll see what the 11:30 update is.

The upper level trough is moving eastward setting up NW flow over the region for today. Surface gradients are onshore and strong. This will keep clouds in place west of The Cascades through the day. Central Gorge sites are currently cloudy but we should see more sun this afternoon. Sites east of Hood River should be sunny. The strongest and steadiest wind should be east of Hood River. Most coastal sites should be cloudy except south of Cape Blanco where NW wind develops.

High temps: 68F Hood River / 72F Arlington

Water Temperature: Columbia River = still 55F at Bonneville Dam (yes, it got colder over last few days)

Western: Broken clouds with west wind 17-21 in the afternoon.

Central: Mostly sunny be afternoon. West wind 22-26 at Swell/Hatchery but up and down.

Eastern: West wind 25-30 with higher gusts.

Jones/Sauvie: Jones 8-12 under cloudy skies, Sauvie NW 6-10.

Uh-oh...

First things first, I'll start to worry if it gets to 10. Which I highly doubt that it will. And that is 12 north, not west like the computer models say it is going to go.

I seriously don't know why George can't ever predict Sauvie and the coast. Shit man, just look at airnet and go along with them.

Anywho... you willing to bet that it WILL go off?

Stevenson is looking a little light. averaging 16 or so.

The Spit looks like its gusting hard core.

I'm going to try and get out of work around 2:30 and find some wind.
