Sherman Island camping/wetsuit.

Do I need a wetsuit? I have a 3/2 full 3/2 shorty, and board shorts, I'd really like to get out of my 6mil winter suit.
Also Does anyone know where to camp that's very nearby?

You can camp right at the access - car camping only, although I have heard you can pitch a tent way back in the bushes.

Pitching a tent in the bushes is pretty hellacious. We did it and the wind blows hardest there at night, believe me! I had to get up numerous times to tie things down. Plus the park people discourage it if not prohibit camping because the area is a wildlife refuge. I was there in July or August and it was trunks temperature. Not sure about late May. I'd maybe bring a 3/2 and maybe a bit thicker suit just to be sure, and then a shorty in case its warmer - or just check with the bay area kiters on their forum...Have fun!
