Very sad.
Tonia and I got home just last night after 2500 mi drive from SPI. Saw a ton of windsurfers out at the wall when we passed driving back along 84.. almost home.
This was the first piece of news we heard today when we went to get coffee this morning at Ground in WS.
Anyone who has been into White Salmon will remember the Volvo shop on the left just after you turn off of dock grade coming up the hill into town. I never knew Mark, but passed by him working many times everyday since moving to the Gorge.
Always a sad day when we lose someone from the community who shares our love of sports in the Gorge.
Be careful out there... _________________ Liquid Force Kiteboarding in the Pacific Northwest.

Hey gang, I'm in Hawaii, and know of another incident recently, a kiter in his early 50's who died on Kauai, reportedly of a heart attack, he came in over a reef in a sketchy area where he normally never would come in, I can only imagine the pain he was in, he made it to the beach, and died, the medics who ran the code on him had flat line all the way, no thanks to the long response time to a remote beach. I was checking out the young grommett surfers the other day, like me when I was a kid, they don't have the bucks for kiting, or a drivers license, they are future kiters, around here it seems like alot of the kiters are older folks who've been watermen all their lives and taken many major thrashings, so sad to die in the water, but I can't think of a better place, ......... well, maybe one.
Aloha from the islands. |

It seems like cold water combined with fatigue can create some deadly situations. My thoughts are with his family. _________________ Hey, I'm being hahahahahrassed! |

my thoughts are with the man's family and friends.
perhaps we can hope for nothing greater than to pass doing what we love most in life, having done in life most often what we loved. |
