It was blowin 25-30 today, but will probably be the last day of the cycle. You guys are too late! Three days in a row and I got to use my 3 new REVs! 13-9-7. Each one felt perfect!

got a question about lincoln city from a non-local too!

i have to come back to portland for business and some personal stuff for a few days. trying to plan when to go, but it will probably be in late May. got friends in lincoln city, and have kited the gorge before too. looks like lincoln city has some bay/inlets to kite? it's not all out in the surf? it's been a decade since i've been there and can't remember much about it other than the skatepark was awesome...

i have "surfed" a few times before but not that well. i'm still not that intune with rips, currents, etc and am somewhat worried about showing up at an unfamiliar place and heading right out into the ocean. who knows, maybe the coast wouldn't even be the place to go in late may.

can anyone offer some advice?

helped out some gorge locals here snowkiting this winter, and looking for the same when i head back up your way. the utah crew here usually does an august trip for a few weeks. i have to miss it this year due to getting married, but have the ok to spend a few extra days up in PDX to kite then. hoping to make it memorable.

kiting on the oregon coast? not that i know of. . .

Nah, man, just kidding, actin like a santa cruz yokel.

although i have met some coasties that made me kneel over a tree stump and squeal like a pig and promise not to tell where the goodies are.

pm some of the guys on this thread and promise beer and ask 'em nice and they will likely deliver, pretty cool group of fellers.

summer in oregon offers a lot of venues on the coast, usually associated with moderate shore break. be careful of rips around the jetties.

and watch for fish with big grins Shocked

Yep,
You can have the south wind BS in the bay. The real season started on Monday.

If you see Jumpin Jimi sitting on the Schooner Creek bridge playing the banjo, look out!
