Same guy and place where the Kiteboarding World Speed Record was unofficially broken.

His speeds are a few knots slower in these runs (his max speed not even approaching his average when he was making record breaking runs at 44.81 knots.) It is interesting though to see how close kiteboarders with small fins or no fins can ride to the shore where there is virtually no chop. Look by comparison at the passing windsurfers that have to ride further out. This is a huge advantage for our sport in setting speed records.
When/if we break the wind powered/water speed record, I'd say it'll be a landmark day for our sport. Think of how many millenia there have been wind powered craft on water. We'll be the fastest. |
