Anybody got info on South Padre Island and or Hatteras NC. I'll have the month of April off and am looking to kite one of the two for about three weeks. Looking for where to stay and which location is usually better in April. Hope to find some info on cheap lodging etc....
Thanks |

| I think SPI would be warmer and probably better chance of wind. |

SPI is pretty nice right now. Water is warm enough to go without a wetsuit and the wind has been pretty steady in the 15 to 20mph range. Just drove down the main drag and saw rooms as low as $35 a night at Motel 6 and the Days Inn. You can get better deals for longer durations. Spring break is over and the place is quiet now.
Bring kites in the 9, 12, and 15m ranges. Easy and cheap to rent surf boards here, too.

| Right on! Hey Tony, this is Brandon (Stevenson kiter). Are you going to be down there for a while? I should be down there by mid April. |

Hey Brandon! Yes, we'll be here until May 16th with the exception of a couple 2 or 3 day trips to take care of business. Also planning on going to the USWWO in Corpus on May 10/11. I think Tonia and Tekko are on their way down here pretty soon as well.
Lots of places to stay, check out padre island rentals or service 24, or look up Motel 6, Days Inn, Travel Lodge, La Quinta, or just google SPI hotels. The north end of town is generally a little cheaper and quieter plus it's closer to the flats.
For any of the NW crew that comes down we've got a couple of bicycles, a kayak, an 8' surf board, a yellow lab, and boogie boards that can be borrowed for the no wind days. We also have one 5' 11" SRT that can be borrowed until we sell it.
