Sat Mar 29, 08 1:34 am Bindings preference??? |
|
|
Hey guys, since I got such great feedback on the wetsuit/drysuit post on puget sound kite site, I would like to know what you guys feel would be a better choice of binding for my first water board.
A. Boot-stiff-backed-wake-board-slip-in-style
or
B. Sandle-style-slip-in-strap-over-the-front-of-foot-style
It seems to me that the boot style binding might be more stable and easier to hold an edge in the water. I snowboard in the winter and I am used to having that support on my calves.
However
When I crash and am trying to relaunch from the water, I was thinking it might be difficult to hold a postion in the water, control the kite, and try to get my foot back into a boot style binding.
What do YOU think??? Pros, cons, preference, why??? _________________ I like anything fast enough to do something dumb with. |

| until your a pro at flying your kite I would stick with the easier on binding which would be the sandle. On the launch both may be easy but in the middle of waves or current with your kite still fighting you while learning tha wake style are a bit harder for a young jedi unicorn. |

| the liquid force luxury pads and straps are the best. Follow up with some Dakine raptor heal straps.(the LF heal straps suck). |

| I'll second the Dakine Raptor straps. Very comfy and super durable. |

| Big fan of the NSI adjustable straps / double stuff pads. They are hard to find in stock, but you can special order them from pretty much any kite shop. |

Sure , we can't say that slingshots fuel are the best kites made vs all other brands but we can say which bindings? well then I guess the luxury footbeds with nice adjustable strap then apparently dakine heel straps to get you going. or whatever comes with the board till you know the difference
just trying to keep it interesting.. |

Everyone should have a go in some Bindings. I ride both straps and bindings. Some people feel inherently comfortable in bindings and will never ride anything else.
Kiting is all about the boards. Try everything twice! |
