How windy do you guys think it was? when I checked around 3pm it was only reading 5 at PDX sensor.

Then again, I guess you don't really need much more than do ya...

I got there around 5:45 or so and I would say it was blowing around 11 or so. It was kind of patchy but we were definitely lit up when the wind came through.

It was better earlier - sitting around 15 with ups and big holes - out of the south is sick - you can scream around and hit the ramp at the entrance and the whole length back Twisted Evil

I agree, the S-SW winds are way better for the longer rides.
lots of fun....This wind direction seems also safer - since you don't have the threat of having your kite slam down on moving traffic (Marine drive)...Now that would suck...Thats why you got to ride unhooked...

oh, and pkh is right - you really don't need that much wind...
a puff or two will do just dandy.... Wink
It does help having a small kite (2m) and a bigger kite (3m+)
I bet a 3M would be your all-around kite....
We had a B4 up and we were lit.... cool cause you could just park it straight up and just ride....But be carefull or that shit will fu** you up....

Any other skaters or non skaters out there... You guys got to try this...
Its better than sitting at home on the couch, or going shopping at the mall.

Cheers,
Tony

I'll pass on skate kite.
I like to keep my tendons exactly where they are.
Wouldn't want to miss an ENTIRE season, for some dumb move on dodgeball,--er uh--sledding down a hill. Laughing
