2008 KB4C
Put it on your calenders! We have set a date for the 2008 Kiteboarding 4 Cancer: Saturday, August 9th with the 10th as a backup day for wind. If you forgot how fun this event was, here are some pictures to remind you, below.

Also, KB4C just received our 501 (c) 3 tax deductible status! All monetary donations are 100% tax deductible, and is retroactive back to June 1, 2007. We will be actively seeking corporate sponsorships this year...hey, it's tax deductible! Got any ins with the CFO at your place of work?? Email tonia at kb4c.org or PM me.

We are looking for some volunteers to lead in the following areas:

Silent Auction Coordinator: Will help obtain silent auction donations and coordinate the auction and auction volunteers on the day of the event.
Volunteer Coordinator: Will help recruit and assign volunteers to responsibilities before and for the day of the event.
Email tonia at kb4c.org or PM if you are interested

Save the date and stay posted for more details on fundraising, events, and prizes as they come!!

dang the date has been moved up!
looks like I will have to up my strategy to compete with trevor! Twisted Evil

last summer I really wanted to get up to the Windfest in Canada, but due to schedule conflicts, I passed. Looks like i can attend both this summer! Sweet!

Just wondering on the IRS stuff being retro from last summer, do you need any receipt for the donation from KB4C or will a cashed check be enough for a receipt?

Thanks Tonia and everyone else involved for making things happen for this upcoming event.

I look forward to helping out again!

Stringy-- If you need a receipt let us know. My guess is a cashed check is fine. This applies to any donation made directly to KB4C.

Phil- can you make this a sticky for a few weeks so everyone can see it? Very Happy

Can't wait for it--- going to be awesome!!!

I'm working on getting the River City Saloon lined up again for the apre-event party.

Hopefully we can line up Kalakoa to play this time. (let's get everyone to put a little pressure on Amery to get his guys to come play!!).

garret,
can anyone setup a KB4C donation page yet? If I already have one, can I start using it again?

Talked to Amery yesterday. He said he would love to do it. He will have to check schedule with other band mates.

Hey Stringy, we will most likely have a date set when people can create a fundraising page and start fundraising. However, the format may change slightly, so hold on for further details. We hope to have more details on everything soon!![/quote]

We're locked in at the River City Saloon for the after event Party.

Now we have to just line up some music.

We are working on securing the Hood River Unicorn Association for sponsorship, but they just had their elections and are currently butting horns over their leadership.

I wasn't around for last year's event, but would like to participate this year. Do you just show up and do laps around the buoys (and get as many people as possible to sponsor you for each lap)?

Would unicorns (plural) "butt horns," or 'butt horn?' Hmmm, complicated. People have "fist fights" with more than one fist each.

Any grammar experts out there care to weigh-in?

There was some talk last year about possibly finding a major sponsor willing to put up a bit of $$ to spice up the marathon concept. Something along the lines of $5.00 for each turn around the course. If I could've added that to my on-line funds, I might have been in the running for the 3rd place prize.

Spike, You'll get all the details on this pretty soon anyway. But last year most players set up a contribution site. It's not a requirement, but kind of nice.

KB4C... The absolutely highest emotional point of 2007 for me. There's nothing to compare to making the transition at the Underwood Bridge and looking back at 80+ kites in the air, all of them working/playing for a great cause.... and Mt Hood in the distance. Lovin Life!
