Wed Mar 12, 08 8:14 am Nichols Boat Works Condo/Townhouse Development? |

...I'm admittedly too lazy to search through the Port of Hood River's online minutes, check the Hood River News archive, or review all posts at nwkite, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone's heard of a townhouse/condo development plan for the Nichols Boat Works site on the west/east access road to the sandspit?
A reliable man of the pressed pants/colllared-shirt-variety told me he'd heard of embryonic building plans from a man of the same ilk.
Apologies if this subject has already been discussed. |

The new owners purchased the property with the original intent of building a hotel/cond/restaurant/marina facility.
I believe we all know the answer to their intentions of building a marina.
I have heard, only through the grapevine, that they are in a holding pattern for the moment to await a determination about what the future of the water inlet will be and how the new road/bridge proposal (over the Hood River) will turn out.
The owner has actually been quite proactive in regards to the waterfront community, having already contributed something around $5,000 or 6,000 towards the sandbar/waterfront access research being conducted via the Port of Hood River with the Corp of Engineers.
