funkysub, that shot is downright majestic! Only one guy on the water, and a beach with nobody on it. Does it get any better? Sweet shot!

| How late in the year does it typically blow steady down there? I am considering a trip towards the end of the month.

i have friends who are caretakers of mokies down there, and it seems like they start driving home the first part of may. I think the wind blows really consistently through march, then april is decent but not as good. Then time to head back to the Gorge in May for sure.
That photo looks like it was taken right outside the mokies gate to the beachfront, but i guess not since you said it was the hot springs, which is pretty close to mokies anyway. sweet pic for sure.

We had this perfect beach to ourselves for 2 days,
about 5 miles north of the main beach (yep, excellent downwinders).
Main beach wasn't too crowded either at end of february.
Bigger pic attached!

That beach is awesome. We dug a hot tub in the sand. Too hot, add more ocean. Too cold, dig towards the hot springs.
Can't wait to go back.
Hopefully next Jan.

I have to agree with Mark. My best experience in baja was the hot springs. It was full moon and the tide was consistently low all day but especially at dusk. We took advantage and dug a hole for a hot tub, put a tarp in it, and then filled it with blistering hot water. Once it was ready, we all sat in it and watched the full moon come up over the island. Pretty intense. I suppose anytime I see a shot from the hot springs, I will think about the good times there and plan my next trip down. Thanks for sharing!
