So why is the 07 SS Link such a bad kite? Why do you think its a bad kite?

its slow, it lacks low end power, and it doesn't relaunch all that hot. Also, Link is a stupid name for a kite. ok? ok.

im no expert,

word on the beach is that the're leading edge is a lil to heavy, needing more power in the kite to perform properly. The're bombproof and a good choice for waves.

I asked the same question over the summer - saw some sweet deals on links. I got a couple of PMs (that I unfortunately delted a while back). Each of the PMs said that they were crappy kites - hard to relaunch was the biggest issue. I have not run into one person who has flown it and recomended it.

For what it is worth here in the UK they resupplied the Link 07 with a new bridle. Guys that had the new bridle on the kite (think it was called code red) said they loved it.

Sadly i only ever flew it on the 5th line set up as the bridle wasn't available when we did our test. It didn't set my world on fire, but it wasn't awful...

I don't know if you guys in the US got the new bridles or not? I am sure you must have??

The 7m LINK was faster than the 7m REV. Definately didn't relaunch as well, had less bar pressure, and not as much overall range. Still liked the depower of the LINK when I rode it the first time, but that was coming from 4 line '05 FUELs.

I had a go on the link, I felt a little slow, but otherwise, okay.of course it is now an "older" kite so it will be slower than what is on the market now.....I only had a go on it for a short while. The kiteloops weren't all that in terms of power, but the kite worked pretty well for waves.

It follows in this story that this kite ended its days in kailua bay after the owner had five .5 - 1.5 mile swims in a row after it not relaunching, loosing air pressure or breaking a bridle etc...he felt the kite was cursed, rolled up the lines and left the kite and swam in...I guess some guy got him self a free kite....my friend wasn't at all interested in dealing with the kite any more.

The Rev is an awesome kite, one of the best they have ever produced i think, certainly the best bow/hybrid style they have ever made.

I have a 10.5 Link. You are welcome to try it out if you like. Just let me know. I am in Hillsboro so I'm on your way to the coast if that is where your headed. I've only flown it once since I installed the new 4 line bridle. If the wind is good and steady it flies good, seems to have problems with gusty wind and light wind, I also had a panel rip out once from hitting the water.

LMAO! Spoken like a true person who can't find the caps lock key.

So where is Spike101 anyways? He just posts he wants some answers and then never follows up? Are you dying to buy a Link? Then buy one. At some point you have to ask yourself ....why is everyone selling these things so cheap?
