As most of you are aware, our outstanding Treasurer Shay Ohrel has moved to Texas. A VERY important position we have yet to identify a candidate for is Shay's replacement i.e. Treasurer. If someone who has an accounting background is interested to participate on our Board of Directors in the role of Treasurer please either PM me or post it here. Please see the details of the responsibilities of the position in my post below.

Does the Treasurer Position consist mostly of oversight and prepairing quarterly and annual reports or is does it involve all banking and monetary activities?
Quickbooks or other software?
How frequently do the Officers and Board meet?
How frequent are member meetings?
Is the Treasurer elected by the members or by the Board of Directors?

The Treasurer position involves everything you ask about and a little more. Financial updates and reports, all banking and monetary activities, preparing and filing tax reports. Budgeting for and providing cash flow for social activities such as bbq's, parties, and events. Collecting checks and payments, depositing and accounting for them from fund raising activities and membership payments. BOD meetings are on an as needed basis as well as member meetings. The Treasurer is elected by the members. Other positions will be appointed by the current BOD - updates to follow. If you are interested we will be asking each candidate to present a 1/2 page proposal as to what you believe you can and will contribute to CGKA .
