I'm headed to Kauai for my honeymoon in July. I am looking for any info that may be useful... I saw a post about kayaking the Napali coast and that looks like a must. Anyway most of the info I can probably get from searching the forum, but I specifically remember a post about a year or so ago where someone suggested a nice quiet house for rent. It looked awesome and I saved the link and now I cannot find it.
Do any of you have any suggestions for rentals in Kauai? We will only be 2 so we do not need a large house or anything but it would be nice to stay out of hotels etc... I would also like to be close to kiting and surfing. Nothing could be too far away there but I've heard the traffic is bad in Kauai now because of the ferry. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Andy |

www.affordable-paradise.com for housing. Be early though.
Kayaking Napali is a definitely a must. If you dive there is a dive that goes to Niihau...thats a must..but expensive.
Otherwise there are some hikes that are nice. You can paddle a kayak up river on the North Shore, but a lot of people do that.
Also check out Anini Beach.
Kauai is super beautiful and I am sure you will have a blast.

Hey Andy, you will LOVE Kauai for kiting and surfing - Onad and I stayed right at Tunnels Beach on the north shore (3 min walk) at a really cool cottage called Banana Bungalow. Here's the link: http://www.vrbo.com/66126
It's only $75/ night and they also have a bigger house for rent next door. The couple is super cool and their property is amazing with views of Bali Hai and walking distance to the best kiting and surfing on the island! Have fun, I can't wait to go back. Tonski |

Not very...be okay fit. It is a...well about 25 mile paddle. I wouldn;t do it too much waves...but summer is okay. You also have the wind in your back, to bring your trainer on super short line..have the kite in the front, and control from the back I guess it might be a good idea to practice that.
We did it with a guide...you really need someone to pick you up the other end..and the guide makes sure you see the caves and get the right beaches...it is a fantastic experience...
