The new 2006 Pyro harness is nice, seems to feel more snug than the 2005. The big downside though is the lack of a hook knife pocket. This was a really nice feature Dakine's other harnesses, now I am left wondering where a good place to stash the hook knife is. |

Do you really want us to anwser that question PKH? You realize you have left the door wide open for the deviant mind crew…
Seriously, why did DaKine do away with the Knife/Pocket? I have never used one in my five years of kiting, but I would sure want it to be there if I ever needed it...
I emailed DaKine about this... Stay tuned. ~D |

Chris Gilbert of Dakine contacted me about this a week ago, I forgot to post an update here. I guess there is a new system involving a pocket that can be mounted to your spreader bar. Chris sent me a demo prototype to try out, but I haven't had a chance to rig it up yet.
I think it will be a much safer solution than the rear pocket. Hopefully Dakine releases it soon as I think its a real safety problem not to have a hook knife. |

Cool! I just got the new spreader bar pad w/ Velcro and it works much better. You can replace the webbing when it wears out without replacing the entire pad assembly. Good job DaKine... |
