Thanks to everyone who showed up Thumb's Up
Even though it was a blizzard Shocked it was still a lot fun, and we hope it will be the start of many great things to come.

mother nature was a lil too generous, with GUSTY winds and LOTS of snow. Completely took out all the jumps and obstacles we made the day before. SO much POWDER!!!

After everyone left we had a good 2 - 3 hour session on our 9 and 10 meter kites. Wind was real steady and it quit snowing for a while. Mr. Onepump has some pics to prove it. I had a blast even though I still can't feel my right index finger.

Thanks guys for organizing that!!!! I look forward to coming back down when we have a little more time to spend.

Andy

Thanks sol-flyer and the rest of the local southern oregon crew for sharing your' winter kiting spots down there. Like andy said the conditions realy improved in the afternoon and the 3 of us had it all to ourselves. The snow just got better and better the further away from the parkinglot we got, lots of fun gliding along on that much powder.
My trusty 9 meter waroo split open at the seam on the leading edge at the end of the day, but fortunatly the bladder didn't blow so it shouldn't be to costly to get it fixed. I was farely close to the road, so I only had to swim through the powder 30 yards or so and walked back to the parking lot on the road.
I'm planning a trip back down already! Smile

Super stoked for you guys!, wish i woulda stayed...but somebody had to make a sacrifice to the wind gods. Embarassed
That was absolutely the most powder i've ever tried to snowkite in!, what a work out. If you guys can rip it up in that stuff then just wait till you get some hardpack.

sorry to hear about your kite, looks like a nasty tear. And its good you we're close to the road...could you imagine being 5-10 miles out in the backcountry and have that happen? maybe they'll make a kite that turns into a sleeping bag Wink

anytime you' guys, or anyone else comes down....just give a shout out and we'll come join ya.

We will be shouting at you soon sol.

I had my garmin gps in my pocket for a while saturday, thought I would share some of the data. The red dot on the map shows where I had to walk back from aftar my kite failure. Even after that short walk in the deep snow I was wishing I had one of those boards with the little moter and snowmobile track. Rolling Eyes
