Please give me your list of the top 3 places you would move to, for kiting, if you had to leave the gorge. Just the lower 48.

My #1 pick - Maui - year round kiting and easy to get jobs.
2. corpus christie is good for jobs and year round kiting
3. spi for winter kiting is excellent - jobs are poor
4. n.c. - for summer kiting - Jobs - People work there?
5. Bay area - lots of kiting choices and jobs but too expensive to live.
Fla is too up and down in the winter and nothing in the summer - jobs - lots of them but you'll be working when the few storms come through and you'll miss them.
Best combo - corpus or spi in the winter and the gorge or nc in the summer. Who says you have to live in only one place or have to be over 65 run from the cold? |

I agree with Carol, that I think combo would be awesome in a perfect world. Stay here in the summer and either Florida Keys or Texas in the winter.
There's not a lot of places that offer the versatility that we have here as far as winter sports and summer sports go. I really like having Mountain access.
Also having grown up in California, I can tell you having 4 seasons is actually really nice. It makes you feel like things are always changing. In CA it all just seemed to blur together.
Though more sun would be nice. |
