Sweet! How's the wind been for you down there? Is the Glide working its magic?

The Glide is great but thats with a 20M kite. These guys know all the light wind tricks and even pull out the longboard surfboards when the air seems to be standing still...I think a 16M is a small kite around here! It's a much more relaxing 'sailing' style - nothing like getting worked in the Gorge.

Another good place is Cardiff State Beach Park (North of Del Mar, just before Encinitas). Cardiff has a nice shore break & the wind comes off the ocean and funnels in through the hills...

Hey Colby, did you kite at Raul's south of the border? We're thinking of checking out the surf breaks and kiteable spots just south of TJ. Anyone have recommendations? I hear there are a lot of car break-ins near Raul's. ?

I don't know about Raul's...I was at Silver Strand, South of Coronado Island...It's the yellow 20 on the top image of my previous post:

If ikitesurf is showing 12 or better you will probably find some of the locals out making the best of it on 18 and 20M kites and giant boards. The other place I kept hearing about is up near Mission Bay and is aptly named (due to sporadic sewage issues) 'stinkies'. Although stinkies sounded really nice, Silver Strand was well worth the effort in hauling my gear down this last weekend.

Thanks Colby - we've been to all the regular spots and had some success in Sail Bay (mission bay) and Silver Strand, but are thinking about checking out close-by Mexico spots. Also, last year we didn't bring our gear but saw kites up at SeaSide in Encinitas. We'll take some pics and post when we get back on the 28th. - Tonski

Colby, where was this picture taken? Mission Bay is inland and doesn't have shore break as far as I know... Looks like you were on a pier??

He probably meant "Mission Beach" near the bay.

Rauls is definitely the spot, but La Fonda is low key, has a nice beach and a great little hotel/restaurant on the beach (ok, "great" maybe stretching but for North Baja, it's pretty nice).
