After borrowing gear for the last couple years I am finally ready to put down some money.

I will be riding primarily in the Gorge and Rio Vista/Sac delta areas.

I was thinking 10.5 - 13.5 -? but would 9 - 12 - 15 be better.

at my wieght I can hold down alot of kite.

I need advise.

thanks
drew

depends on what kind of kites your looking at.

In the bow world I think your looking at 9m and 13 with a surfboard (or fuse) and a twintip in the 137+ range.

Always pinch a big loaf b4 u go out. Should cut down the kite size you need by 1 meter or so. Razz But seriously, longer lines do generate more power: I think it is about 3m worth of lines = 1 meter of kite.

lol... i was going to say if you're 250 and want a Cult, you should try contacting one of the old Koresh followers! Smile

i'm curious how far the equation goes... i.e. i have 23m lines on a 12m waroo, if I go 26m, will the kite have 2the equivalent of one more meter? I love that because I need the range to go just a little lower than it is right now.

Lefty,
Good choice in kites. For the gorge and your size I would recommend the 10.5 for your main "go to" kite. I would then get a 13.5 for your "lighter" wind kite. Mix in a bigger board and you should be dialed. When the Nukey time comes you can get a 7.5

As for Rio Vista area not sure of the winds. However I ride a 7.5, 9,12 combo. I mix in a surfboard and that covers all my wind needs.

Have fun
Mark
