| Anyone down there or been recently - heading down next week for a few days - was thinking Seal Beach. |

had the best luck north of malibu, can't remember the name of the beach exactly. make sure if there are life guards you talk to them first as there might be a special area for kiters. usually super light wind, but one time it was actually 9m.
if you want a local buddy I got a couple friends that are experts to the area but are still beginner kiters, I can PM you their info if you want. |

From N to S... Leo Carillo, Topanga Canyon, Santa Monica to Dockwiler, Cabrillo Beach, Seal Beach, Huntington.
Might be a stretch this time of year but you could get a good blow just about anywhere along the coastline.
Leo and Topanga are point breaks and when they are on with waves, can really be epic. I hear that San Diego has been very good this winter so that usually means LA is good too. |

I was at Santa Monica beach a few weeks ago and the wind was onshore and light. I did see a 12M foil in the air. New kite for the landboarder and he was just flying it. Wind at night surf in the AM |

lived there for 3 years....totally sucked.
But Belmont Shores in Long Beach is by far the best wind and biggest beach with the easiest accessibility.
Look out because it is actually illegal to ride on most beaches. And if you jump less than 50 feet from shore you get a $250 ticket.
Seal beach is good but really crowded and lots of kids in the waves playing.
Newport and huntington can be epic but I think you can only ride there after 4.
Go to Kitesurfari in Huntington Beach and they will dial you in.
Have fun it is supposed to be really hot there sat, sun and mon. |

| There have been some kitable days this winter, but pretty light, in the teens mostly. It's very hit or miss. If you are going to be here in the next few weeks, you won't have to worry about anyone on the beach at Seal, too cold for beachgoers. But, you will have to worry about whether there is enough wind. Bring your big kite and big board. |
