Is the chicken loop quick release on the Waroo bar safe? If you are familiar with it, there is a loop strap on one side of the chicken loop that one would pull (from that side with that hand) in order to QR from the kite. Seems to me that if the shit hit the fan, this would be more difficult than say the one on the Cabrinha that you could just pull up with (with either hand from either side) to release. Anyone agree or disagree? Thanks.

You can test it yourself by finding something to hang your bar from, then harness in and put all your weight on it, pull the release.

Its good to check your quick releases every few sessions (no matter what type)... sand can jam in them and they'll stop working.

Inspect the sewing on the red loop often. The stitching failed when I used the QR on a fairly new bar. Luckly the pin still pulled.

I have never actually had to rely on my 2007 Waroo release but I offer this caution. Watch the position of the set pin in the chicken loop after any wipeouts. If you are heavily powered, the loop has a tendency to stretch and the pin can work a few mm out of position.

On the 2006 waroo bars, the chicken loop release is NOT safe. I had a friend pull the release in an emergency and even though the pin came out, there was too much friction to allow the CL to release from the sheath.

They fixed this in 2007 by changing the materials to reduce friction.

Although simple and light, I think Best's CL is one of the weakest points. Supposedly it's being redesigned for 2008, but we'll see.

It’s funny how there are soooooo many questions about waroos!!! Don’t turn to the dark side support the organic brands like slingshot, north, or liquid force.. Buying waroos is like shopping at wal-mart.. There gonna break in a week...

since when does any kite become organic?? Can i compost my old SS kite, bar and lines. they are all made in asia at the same factory...I think walmart carries all the brands, gijoes carries LF. I think Ozone is the only factory that pays a living wage and has safe working conditions..you can check the nam factory tour somewhere on the web.
