KF is really the worst sometimes.

Its best feature is also its biggest weakness: worldwide popularity. There are some really interesting and bright people on there, and also some know-it-alls who actually know very little. Anonymity kills it too, I doubt most of those folks would ever say such things face-to-face. I'd have a few things to say to that Tom guy if I ever met him in person.

But anyway...

This sport is risky, and the risk increases exponentially as the wind speeds go up. (You could easily say the same about big waves.) And I'd say too that the thrill of accomplishment somewhat parallels the risk. Face it, that's what drives us.

Its sad that it takes someone dying close to remind us what can happen when it goes bad... but that's exactly what this tragedy did for me.
