So what kind of safety gear do most sled people haul along. Does anyone use radios? If so what type and frequency?

VHF Radio

Technically, you can't ( aren't allowed ) use VHF on ground.

You are only allowed to use it on the water , for boat use.

But I guess the Coast Guard ain't likely to get you in sled country Laughing

Don't think they are getting a boat up on the mtn & I who knows if you're gonna pick anyone up on it, but its easy enough to throw the handheld in the pack. I know that my cell coverage is spotty at best up there.

also get a snowbungie! Trust me! oh and take a small saw!, Look at some muff pots, transievers, extra belt, small tool kite (should come with your sled) extra plugs.

oh yeah, for a cheap rack find a old flow snowboard binding and screw it on at a 45 degree angle on top of the back or you tunnel.

If you going to carry more than one person, turn up you rear suspenstion. Contantly bottoming out sucks.

Sorry, just though you should know. I'm kindof a sled head.

ive been showing sledders the new barryvox pulse, its the baddest of the bad. (yes, I work for them, so i'm bias) but is totally the easisiet for a miller lite soaked sled head to use in a emergency.

Transievers are the shit and they save lives. Its a 400.00 insurance policy. i still can't believe that people don't think they need them. People die every year in cars barried on free ways and they don't think they need them at a ski area. It really bum me ouot when people die because they didn't have them on. But its Murphys law. I can't stand the bullshit that people give me when they say they can't afford them either, if you can't afford one, stay out of the back country. Its not fair to the rest of us who have to tell your loved ones that your dead because your a jackass self centered retard that didn't have enough common sense to where a transiver in the back country.

Sorry, was that over the top? Shocked

Fuck it, its the truth, deal with it.

sg

PS, it doesn't matter if you have one if you don't know how to use it. Practice!
