We need a place to host this years party. We have a few ideas but basically we're stuck between paying $1000+ to rent a place, or host it in a bar like last year.
A bar would work, it would be cheap and is easiest on the planning side. But...
To me the ultimate is to have our own place, our own music, our own beer. Even if we have to rent we'd probably spend a lot less collectively if we got a couple kegs and rented a place rather than paying bar prices on drinks.
Ideally we'd pick a spot in Portland so coasties and Gorge guys don't have too far to go.
If you got ideas post them here. |

I think this place could fit the bill. They have a big back room and I think they'll reserve it free when you order a food package. Games, big screen, etc.

Audio Cinema located under the Hawthorne bridge.
This place F#$%en Rocks. Large warehouse environment that you can rage in. I went to a motorcycle party last year with live band, boxes of pizza and non-stop kegs.
If you need a band I have got one for you....these guys will get you up off your feet...Pillow Fight...local band out of Portland, they rock.
I will have a contact # for you later today. I think they paid $500 for the place last year?

We had around 100 people last year, so I'd plan for capacity in the 150 range just in case more people come.
Great ideas so far from everybody! Keep them coming, its great to have backup plans. |
