Has anyone been there or gotten a first had report on conditions in November - January (which is when they are open and there is supposedly wind)?
Vietnam most likely has more consistant wind, but it is not THAILAND. If they had Thai food in Vietnam, well maybe it would be worth a visit to kite. |

actually mui ne has plenty of thai style food available. but the rest of the food is superb as well.
I have been to chumpon two years in a row. 2004 and 2005. I then discovered mui ne and now it is the place I would rather go if I was to go there again. been to mui ne two years in a row. If I go back to thailand, it will be for more non-kiting experiences. chumpon can be fun, but it is the worst place to be when it doesn't blow. there is very little to do there. it is hit or miss, but try emailing roger who runs a school there. he is pretty good at returning your email. he can give you the wind forecast as well as the historical patterns for chumpon.

Hey,
Can you tell me what time of year you were there and what the conditions were actually like. Also, can you give me an idea of the percentage of windy days while you were there those two years.
I did contact roger, but so far have not heard back.
Did you go from Thailand to Vietnam, or were they separate trips?
Thanks,
Mike |
