POSTED BY HANSEN AEROSPORTS on kiteforum, but should get seen by the NorthWesties crew...
"Over the last 3-4 days JohnB and I have made substantial improvements to the Monostrut including 'dubbing' the wingtips, re-shaping the canopy profiles, adding inflatable wingtips and simplifying the bridle by eliminating the pulleys. The resultant size is about 8.5sq-m with a slightly lower AR and higher PA%. These changes have all produced a compact, simple and surprisingly stable kite with good turning speed, excellent upwind VMG and predictable handling. Today we had a 'public' session in Stevenson with winds around 20 knots. Most people were on 10-12 sq-m Revs, Sonics, Norths with an occasional 'C.' The Monostrut has a unique appearance and attracts interest presenting a mix of 'looks' from different perspectives being very flat looking from the rear and very 'C'-like from the front. Overhead it has a distinct Delta shape. At this point we are done with this sample and JohnB will be offering it to interested PacNW kiters for a tryout. "
