sounds like you need to redirect the kite forward before landing

here is a link to a vid that my girlfriend took on saturday when it was blowing like 20-30 down at the sandbar. i was lit out of my mind on my 9m and boosting huge. anyway, the vid has a couple of jumps in it, and i land light as a feather so i thought maybe it will help demonstrate, then again maybe it wont.

uhhh, depending on how high you are when you apex out, might wanna wait until you spot your landing (as you descend) before sending the kite back down in front of you.

main thing to work on is loading your rail and popping off the water, better balance off the water gives you more control for landings. and yea just hafta learn to get the kite back down in the directoin of travel.

check out this link, might help:

here are a couple more to waste some time at work, just going big, no tricks or anything else. Funny tho, the what_not_to_do.mpg has an example of me taking off, and i'm not edging hard enough against the pull of the kite so instead of going up i fly outward making for a fast landing.

Watch his lines. In that one they are straight at 12 the whole time. He didn't dive the kite back to the left that time.

after jumping and at your apex let go of your trailing hand and the kite will slowly dip in the direction you are riding. always point the board down wind too. never try to land parallel to your jump. i almost land perpendicular stratght down wind. i do this constantly when spinning so i dont hindenburg the kite. i had the same problem when first learning how to jump. jsut that slight pressure with the lead hand seems to bring the kite down perfect.

then when you start to unhook you have the same problem but thats in the future for you. jsut keep jumping and going bigger and bigger. throw those spins in and impress your guy/girl.

good luck
